What a crazy year
it's been. I'm happy to announce that my very first record is in its
final stages of recording. Trevor, Diego, and the two Adams have all
helped my songs evolve into new creations and it's been such an
amazing journey and learning experience to work on this project. I
really think you should look at Trevor's
blog, if for nothing else than to have a little giggle at his
wit. You'll get a glimpse into the fun we've been having during the
sessions. No firm date set for the release, but I'm estimating
November...!!!!
In life, I admit
I'm stretched a bit thin. It's funny to realize all the things I'm
doing, but never once in my life have I ever considered myself an
over-achiever. I am so inspired to be spending all my time and
energy on music. Fitting a full-time job and grad school in around
writing, practicing, and performing is a little difficult. It's
happening though. I was really affected by watching this
video, so I'd like to share it. <3

Happy New Year!
I've been a busy girl. Survived the holidays, enjoyed some crazy
adventures, and resolutions are well under way so far. Been keeping
up with open mics and networking (my 2009 "resolution"),
but this year, I want to focus more on artistry, skill, and
self-discovery. So, basically, I want to focus more on writing and
getting more fluent at guitar. Life has been so kind as to toss me
distraction upon distraction - each more inspiring, but it's hard to
focus.
For example,
don't be surprised if I'm a fitness instructor in the coming
months... I'm just saying... (you heard it here first).
All that being
said, I have five gigs this month. Um, is that a record? I just
checked. Yes. Yes, it is. =D

Hello! It's
time to finally start the blog! Things have been GREAT! I have been
spending the majority of this year performing and networking with
other local musicians. The experience has been incredible! I started
hosting an open mic at the new Philz Coffee in San Jose. I think
once the word gets out, it is going to be a great place for local
artists to share and network. So far it's been really good.
In other news,
I have several new songs on the way. I'm hoping to start recording
the album soon. I'm thinking about picking up the violin again.
Overall, I am completely stoked to be singing and making
music.
I just want to
personally thank everyone who has supported me over the last several
months. I am doing what I've always dreamed of doing and having the
support of my family and friends has given me a lot of courage to
keep going.
I've been
contributing a large portion of the financial support I receive to
the family for whom I wrote "Cuánto Más". This family
(which happens to be relatives on my mom's side), has been through
more trauma and heartache than many of us can imagine (long, sad
story) and are in need of prayers and support of all kinds. I wrote
Cuánto Más in July of 2007 when all of it was just starting. I had
no idea the point to which the scenario would worsen. They remain
faithful, hopeful, loving, positive, and strong. I'm continually
inspired by their faith and am glad to be able to help in any small
way. Your prayers for my family are very much appreciated. Also, the
financial support provided by those who have come to my shows really
has made an important difference to them. On behalf of the family, I
deeply thank you.
Well, it's a
long day ahead of me, so I'll leave it there for now. Thanks for
checkin' this out!
